Trethaway Surveyor Small with Brass Shoulder | TRETHAWAY BROS. SMALL SURVEYORS LAMP BRASS SHOULDER - Trethaway surveyors lamp, 5 1/2 in. tall to top of wick tube, tin font, tube and tube cover, with brass shoulder, collar and fill cover, marked on font TRETHAWAY BROS. PARSONS, PA; acquired from Karen Love, Pine Grove, PA (The Trethaway Bros. of Parsons, PA produced more varieties of wick lamps than any other manufacturer; in 1894, Richard Trethaway formed a partnership with his brothers William, Joseph, John and Charles to manufacture tin and metalware products including wick lamps; Richard served as president of the firm located in Parsons which in 1927 was absorbed by the city of Wilkes-Barre; the firm grew steadily and by 1912, employed nearly 500 employees; Trethaway not only produced a wide variety of wick lamps in tin, brass, copper and mixed metal combinations but also produced lamps under the labels of UMWA, Richards, Tracy Wells, L.C.N. Co., Lennon, P.F. Lennon, Sanner Hardware Co., O'Keefe Patent, Alex E.
